Established in 1999, Mc Mining, a 100% Malagasy company, traces its roots back to the visionary efforts of Mr. Sikandaraly PICHORI. Initially founded as a spare parts reseller in Toamasina – Madagascar, the company was named Macauto.

In 2002, Macauto strategically expanded its operations by importing spare parts from reputable manufacturers in Dubai, China, and Japan. This move enabled the company to transcend its regional focus and cater to customers across the entirety of Madagascar.

Rapidly evolving from a local reseller to the largest wholesaler/distributor of Japanese spare parts in Madagascar, Macauto cultivated a diverse customer network. This network encompassed resellers nationwide, businesses within the transportation and logistics sector, non-profit/governmental agencies, civil engineering enterprises, and end-users possessing Japanese-branded vehicles.

Prior to 2005, the prevailing business landscape lacked substantial industrial investments with requisite Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards. During this period, profitability primarily emanated from hardware stores, supermarkets, household appliances retailers, and spare parts suppliers. Adopting a Business-to-Business (B2B) model, Macauto successfully generated capital by distributing spare parts to the local market and resellers.

In 2006, a historic forty-year mining permit was granted to investors, including Dynatec/Ambatovy Madagascar. In 2007, SNC LAVALIN initiated the construction of the mining and processing plant. Recognizing the immense potential, Mr. Sikandaraly PICHORI invested capital to prevent from missing such opportunity.

As the mining project gained momentum and increased the standards of all sub- contracting and other industrials of Madagascar, the visionary founder of Macauto/Mc Mining strategically decided to transition from being an automobile spare parts wholesaler to an importer/ distributor of industrial tools and equipment.

This marked the transformation of Macauto into Mc Mining.

Our initial focus in the industrial sector centered on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), followed by tools, material handling, lifting equipment, lockout and security, lubricants, and surface treatment. Through customer-driven requests and strategic collaborations with potential suppliers from various countries, Mc Mining expanded its portfolio to encompass over 50 leading brands in Madagascar.

Mc Mining has earned a distinguished reputation in the industrial domain, owing to our professionalism and consistently available stock. What sets us apart from both local and international competitors is our substantial inventory stored in warehouses across Madagascar, ensuring prompt delivery upon receiving purchase orders. If a product is not available at Mc Mining, it is likely not available in Madagascar. For urgent requirements, our 25 years of importation experience enable us to import items via charter plane within 3 weeks or by ship within 75 days, depending on manufacturing lead time for larger volumes.

As our brand gained prominence, we attracted customers and suppliers from diverse industries seeking a dependable supplier/distributor to meet the operational needs of local industrial enterprises.

Since 2021, Mr. Abizar Pichori, the eldest son of Mr. Sikandaraly Pichori, joined the family business, introducing a new customer-centric approach. Mc Mining adopted a strategy focused on annual renewable contracts with local industrial/ sub-contractors, ensuring the availability of their daily operational requirements. Analyzing yearly forecasts for fast-moving items, we establish fixed-price agreements based on quantities and order frequency. Once contracts are set, Mc Mining imports merchandise, keeps it available in our warehouses, and deliver to customers as needed.

This approach not only shields our clients from missing stocks due to intensifying competition but also provides them with the satisfaction of a reliable supplier for all their needs.

In 2023, Mc Mining shifted its focus from procurement solutions to servicing and industrial solutions, inaugurating our first workshop in partnership with HANSAFLEX and ALFAGOMMA. This facility is dedicated to crafting custom hydraulic and industrial hoses, offering end-users quality products that enhance machinery lifespan—a significant step in our service-oriented approach.

In 2024, our goal is to cultivate strategic partnerships with multinational players in the industrial asset management field. These partnerships will empower Mc Mining to provide our customer database with cutting-edge maintenance and asset management solutions.
